Often times, those who spend their days nurturing others do well with reminders to care for themselves.  Yoga offers a path to peaceful family transitions from morning, noon, to night.  Little ones can be guided to transition smoothly, allowing newness to arrive more welcomed, rather than with resistance.  It is hard to stop doing something when you are enjoying it, especially when you are young and experiencing much in life for the first time.  Let these little transition tamers be a first step in taking care of you.  When you take good care of yourself you are better able to enjoy the process of giving.

The Integral Yoga Center For Holistic Health has officially opened this month in Highland Park, replacing the Turning Point Studio at 141 Raritan Avenue. Prema Spozdzial, who has been a Yoga instructor for many years in Highland Park, once teaching at the former YM/YWHA, has now gone to having a full program that includes classes in meditation, Hatha Yoga, and workshops every weekend.
Her schedule will be expanding in December with more yoga and meditation as well as workshops in healing the body with Reflexology and Foot Massage, integrative massage therapy and Eden Energy Medicine workshops.

Legs-up-the-wall pose, also known by its Sanskrit name, viparita karani, is a wonderful relaxation pose for after work or before sleep, or any time a little respite is needed. This pose is said to quiet the mind, relieve tension in the lower back, and offer a welcome break for tired, aching feet.

People often tell me, "I would never be able to do yoga. I can't even touch my toes."
But yoga is more than touching your toes.

I got married in August and was out of my apartment by September first. Since then I have been living with my husband in his house -- the house where he's been for over a decade, where he lived with his late wife -- and we are getting ready to sell it. At the same time we are preparing another house -- new to both of us -- to live in. And I'd thought planning a wedding was a lot of work.
