With the winter weather, snow and ice included, a lot of people are having difficulty walking. Unfortunately, that can lead to a slip or fall, which can lead to a trip to the emergency room. I have two solutions to offer you today.

Some kids are just different from all the other kids from the very beginning. It seems to be an instinct among kids to tease or bully other kids who are different from them, and make them feel like outsiders. What the pack fails to realize is that as we get older, being an original and standing out from the crowd is a good thing.

As parents, many of us have a natural inclination towards making life as easy as possible for our kids.  We want them to have it better than we did, and certainly don't ever want to see them suffer.
But is that really the best thing for them?  Sometimes when life is too easy in childhood, it becomes too hard in adulthood.

You may have noticed that there are a lot of people with dogs walking around town.  There are all types of dogs to be seen in Highland Park.  Some big, some small; some friendly, some not.  Some are good with people, but not with other dogs; some are good with dogs, but not with people. Some dogs are good with neither, and some are good with both.

The legend of the Bigfoot is as alive today as it ever was.  I was watching an interesting documentary on ol’ Sasquatch on the National Geographic channel this afternoon, with my son.  I asked him if he had heard of Bigfoot, and was surprised to hear that he had.  After all he is only six and a half years old.  He told me that Bigfoot is in some of the cartoons
