Mr. Ray entertains for Zambia and for H.P.

On Monday June 23 at 7 PM, Highland Park resident and famous children’s performer Mr. Ray will entertain families at the Reformed Church of HP. The show promises to include his national hits including all-time favorites “Kalien the Alien,” “Swish,” “When I Grow Up,” “RoyGBiv,” and a whole new line-up from his latest CDs.

The concert is presented by HP KIDS HELPING KIDS, a local non-profit organized around assistance to the Shiyala Community School, near the city of Chongwe in southern Zambia. Over the last two years, volunteer organizers have provided money and friendship to the community school as they work to build a sturdy new three-room building in the village devastated by AIDS.

As budget crises hit hard here at home, proceeds also benefit the Highland Park Board of Education and the Highland Park Public Library.

Purchase tickets at the door or in advance, by cash or check to RCHP-Project Zambia. Come early at 5 PM for free educational activities and pay-as-you-go pizza. Tickets to the benefit show are $10 per person, and $40 for a family.
