Do you have a special talent? Are you longing for your moment in the limelight? This is your chance -- sign up to perform in Main Street Highland Park’s third annual Community Talent Show, being held on Thursday, June 12, from 5-8 p.m., during this summer’s first Random Acts of Fun block party, on Raritan Avenue between Fourth and Sixth Avenues.

Main Street Highland Park is looking for singers, musicians, dancers, comedians, poets, and magicians to perform in the show, which will be held outdoors on Raritan Avenue between Fourth and Sixth Avenues. The talent show is open to all age groups. Prizes will be awarded to top performers.

Those who wish to sign up need to register in person, no later than Tuesday, June 10, at Over the Moon Toys at 427 Raritan Avenue. Register soon to reserve your spot – space is limited. All acts will be limited to five minutes or one song. All material must be appropriate for all age groups. A parent’s signature is required for those who are under 18 years old.

This summer there will be three Random Acts of Fun parties, to be held every other Thursday, from 5-8 p.m., from June 12 through July 10, on different blocks along Raritan Avenue. The second event, on June 26, which will be on the blocks between Second and Fourth Avenues, will feature a Hawaiian Luau theme, a chance to play Guitar Hero at PJ’s Coffee and Planet Smoothie, and fashion show highlighting clothing from local stores. The final event, on July 10 between Adelaide and Second Avenues, will be called The Seventies Returns, and feature a human car wash.

The events are organized by Main Street Highland Park and sponsored by Over the Moon Toys, Yellow Brick Road Pre-school and Infant and Toddler Center, and The Star-Ledger.
